Florence, S.C.-based McLeod Health received a certificate of need to break ground on a new $56 million hospital at its McLeod Health Carolina Forest Campus.
The McLeod Health Carolina Forest Campus will have 48 beds and four operating suites. Construction is expected to begin this fall and last 24 months, according to a Sept. 26 McLeod news release.
The 82,613-square-foot facility will meet increased needs in the Carolina Forest campus.
"Over the past year, more than 110,000 patient visits have occurred at our Carolina Forest Campus," McLeod Loris Seacoast Hospital CEO Monica Vehigel said in the news release. "These are patients who have chosen McLeod Health for their healthcare, and we owe it to them to have a convenient choice for inpatient care."
