Saint Luke's breaks ground on $52M hospital expansion

Kansas City, Mo.-based Saint Luke's has broken ground on a $52 million project to expand its East Hospital in Lee's Summit, Mo., ABC affiliate KMBC reported April 12.

The project includes a 62,000-square-foot expansion to the hospital campus as well as renovations to an existing 52,000-square-foot building, according to the report.

Bobby Olm-Shipman, president and CEO of Saint Luke’s Hospital's south and east regions, told the news outlet that Lee's Summit as a whole has grown over the past several years and the hospital has grown "almost nonstop since 2006 to keep pace with the community."

The project could be completed by early 2025, according to the report.
