Pediatric hospital opens in Georgia

Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital, Navicent Health held a grand opening Feb. 12 for its new facility in Macon, Ga., according to WGXA, a local Fox affiliate.

The original facility was constructed in 1962 and the new 160,000-square-foot hospital was built next door. It houses 66 neonatal intensive care beds, 21 pediatric critical care beds, 23 general pediatric beds and four pediatric operating rooms.

"We are delighted to complete this project, and begin serving patients and their families in the new, state-of-the-art Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health," said Ninfa Saunders, MD, president and CEO of Navicent Health. "This hospital promises greater benefits to the children of central and south Georgia through the coordination of multiple pediatric services and specialities provided by caring professionals at the local level."
