New Orleans-based LCMC Health has started $14.1 million in upgrades at Metairie, La.-based East Jefferson General Hospital, as the health system closes in on the $100 million capital commitment goal LCMC set when it acquired East Jefferson, nola.com reported June 8.
When LCMC bought the hospital for $90 million in 2020, it agreed to spend $100 million in five years on upgrades.
The latest investment will either build or renovate 30 intensive care unit beds.
Previously, LCMC outfitted the hospital with new emergency generators, a new heating and cooling system, transitioned its EHR system and added a new MRI machine.
