Hospitals in Washington, West Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia and Texas have all announced expansion plans.
Here is how much five hospitals are paying for expansions:
- Prosser (Wash.) Memorial Health is set to complete the construction of a $112 million replacement hospital.
- Morgantown, W.Va.-based WVU Medicine is looking to spend between $75 million and $90 million to rebuild a shuttered hospital campus into a cancer care center.
- Greensboro, N.C.-based Cone Health is spending $72 million to expand its cancer center.
- Atlanta-based Piedmont is breaking ground on a five-story $215 million patient tower.
- Round Rock, Texas-based Ascension Seton Willamson announced a $230 million expansion that will add 160 beds.
