1. St. Joseph's Children’s Hospital, part of BayCare Health System in Tampa, Fla., received a $5 million donation to support the construction of a new, dedicated children's hospital facility. The new standalone facility will allow for expanded specialty care and research dedicated to children's health, addressing growing patient numbers and community needs.
2. Cleveland Clinic will enhance its cardiovascular genetics research after receiving $30 million in donations from the Bailey-Haslam family. The donations will establish the Haslam Family Section for Cardiovascular Genetics. It will also fund genetic testing for relatives of Cleveland Clinic patients diagnosed with inherited heart conditions.
3. Naples, Fla.-based NCH Healthcare System continues to receive donations for the system's $265 million heart institute, expected to open in 2027. The latest $5 million donation was made by the James M. Schoonmaker II Foundation.
4. An $8.5 million donation to the Tampa General Hospital Foundation will fund a breast cancer center within the TGH Cancer Institute. Of the $8.5 million, $1 million will support the creation of a global health program in the health system's department of surgery. The gift will also enable the TGH Cancer Institute to accelerate efforts to expand access to care in rural areas and address cancer care disparities between urban and rural communities.
5. Bel Air, Md.-based University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health, a member of the University of Maryland Medical System, received a $20 million donation from Danny and Gail Jones. The organization's largest ever gift will support behavioral health, mental health and primary care programs at UM UCH. It will also be used for operating and capital improvements and healthcare service expansion.
