Oviedo (Fla.) Medical Center, operated by Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, is increasing its number of beds in an $80 million expansion project, according to an Oct 10. Orlando Business Journal report.
The project will see the bed total increase from 64 to 102 with an extension to the fourth floor of the facility, the report said. In the first phase of the project, operating rooms will expand to nine from five and there will be a new post-anesthesia care unit.
Oviedo Medical Center first opened as an emergency facility in 2013 before expanding into a full-service hospital four years later.
HCA operates more than 50 hospitals in Florida.
