Hackensack U reaches $24M municipal contract with city

Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center has reached a six-year $24 million deal with the city for municipal services, northjersey.com reported May 8.

The deal is an extension of a previous five-year partnership set to expire at the end of the year. Under the new partnership, the hospital will pay the city $4 million per year in community host fees.

The fees serve as the hospital's contribution to municipal services used by the hospital.

The parties can renegotiate the contract in 2029, according to the report.
