Knoxville, Tenn.-based Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, owned by Knoxville-based Covenant Health, has unveiled plans for its $115 million expansion, according to Knox News.
The expansion, first announced in April, also will renovate the hospital's emergency department and critical care units.
The hospital's ED will nearly double in size, growing from 28 beds to 45. The waiting area will expand to accommodate more than 50 people.
The new two-floor critical care unit will house more spacious rooms and 72 beds, up from 45 beds.
The project will add 250 parking spaces.
