The boards of directors at St. Cloud, Minn.-based CentraCare and Astera Health have approved a partnership to expand cancer services in the region.
The partnership will build a 20,000-square-foot expansion to the Astera main campus in Wadena, Minn. The project, which will include infusion, radiation oncology and supportive care, is expected to cost $23.7 million.
A team consisting of CentraCare and Astera leaders will finalize operational details of the partnership. The project will be funded through a lease relationship with a nonprofit financing agency as well as a capital campaign through donations and grants.
The project is expected to open by 2025.
