The following hospitals announced or completed plans in the last week to expand, upgrade or renovate their facilities.
1. Beaumont Health to open 30 urgent care centers in Detroit
Through a partnership with Atlanta-based WellStreet Urgent Care, Southfield, Mich.-based Beaumont Health plans to open as many as 30 urgent care centers in metro Detroit by the end of 2019.
2. Downtown Pittsburgh gets its first medical center
Allegheny Health Network and Highmark Health, both based in Pittsburgh, have opened the first downtown medical center offering primary care, physical therapy and other health services.

4. IU Health breaks ground on $55M cancer center
Carmel-based Indiana University Health North Hospital broke ground on its $55 million cancer center, which will consolidate its cancer services.
5. Sutter Health opens 120-bed replacement hospital
San Francisco-based California Pacific Medical Center Mission Bernal, part of the Sacramento, Calif-based Sutter Health system, has opened its doors to patients. The hospital replaces the aging St. Luke's Campus in San Francisco.
