4 hospitals planning upgrades, expansions

The following hospitals announced or completed plans in the last week to expand, upgrade or renovate their facilities:

1. OhioHealth to buy, renovate building in Dublin to house administrative associates
Columbus-based OhioHealth plans to consolidate a portion of its nonclinical workforce in Dublin, Ohio. As part of those efforts, the system seeks to buy and renovate a building. 

2. 2 Pennsylvania hospitals plan multimillion dollar expansions before UPMC-Highmark split
A consent decree allowing Highmark health plan beneficiaries to use Pittsburgh-based UPMC facilities will end June 30. Now, two rival hospitals based in Erie, Pa., are preparing for the end of the agreement by undertaking large expansion projects.

3. Children's Hospital of Michigan completes $155M patient tower
After nearly three years of construction, Detroit-based Children's Hospital of Michigan has completed its $155 million patient tower.  

4. 3 North Carolina hospitals fight for market share
Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health, Charlotte-based Carolina Center for Specialty Surgery and Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health are racing to fill the state's need for six more operating rooms in Mecklenburg County.
