Medina (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital will cut half of its inpatient beds, according to a report from WIVB.
The hospital is in the process of being converted to a critical access hospital. It will go from 50 beds to 25 beds by decertifying its pediatric department and one-third of its intensive care unit and one-half of its surgical beds. Whether the bed losses will affect staffing is still unclear.
MMH filed the plans with the New York State Department of Health last week, according to the report.
