The University of California San Diego School of Medicine has opened its $70 million Medical Education and Telemedicine Center, designed for training purposes, according to a San Diego Union-Tribune report.
The three-story training center features emergency rooms, intensive care units and treatment rooms where faculty, visiting physicians and medical students can train for surgeries using the latest technology.
The facility also houses mannequins to simulate real-live situations as students and faculty practice the latest surgical techniques. The center is also equipped with videoconferencing technology.
