Cleveland Clinic has received 22 environmental achievement awards from Practice Greenhealth, an organization for environmentally-conscious healthcare facilities, according to a hospital news release.
Cleveland Clinic was honored with Practice Greenhealth's most prestigious award: the Environmental Leadership Circle award, which recognizes healthcare organizations for environmental excellence. Requirements for the award include meeting criteria for the mercury-free award, recycling at least 25 percent of total waste stream, implementing innovative pollution prevention programs and serving as leaders in the community.
Other Cleveland Clinic regional hospitals and family health centers also received awards from Practice Greenhealth.
