Siteman Cancer Center, the joint facility of St. Louis-based Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine, received renewal of its Comprehensive Cancer Center designation by the National Cancer Institute along with $23 million in research funding for the next five years, according to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch report.
Siteman is the only cancer center in Missouri with the designation, and one of 40 in the U.S. Siteman first received comprehensive cancer center designation in 2005.
The center is one of the largest in the country, caring for about 40,000 patients a year. Siteman was recently named in Becker’s Hospital Review’s list of 30 Hospitals with Great Oncology Programs.
