New York Times Publishes Letters to the Editor Debating Who Should Provide Anesthesia Care

The New York Times has published a few letters to the editor discussing the publication's editorial column "Who Should Provide Anesthesia Care?" which centers around the ongoing debate about whether a CRNA can deliver anesthetics without the supervision of anesthesiologist.

 

The letters come from Alexander Hannenberg, president of the American Society of Anesthesiologists; Catherine L. Gilliss, president of the American Academy of Nursing; Harry H. Bird, professor emeritus of anesthesiology at Dartmouth Medical School past president of the American Society of Anesthesiologists; and anesthesiologist Andrew Gorlin.
