Laureen L. Hill, MD, MBA, will become chair of anesthesiology at Emory's School of Medicine and chief of anesthesiology services at Atlanta's Emory Healthcare, effective Aug. 1, according to an Emory news release.
Dr. Hill currently serves as vice chairman of the department of anesthesiology and professor of anesthesiology and cardiothoracic surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. She also helped develop the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit at Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Hospital and developed and led the Center for Preoperative Assessment and Planning.
She replaces Dr. James R. Zaidan, MD, MBA, current chair and professor of anesthesiology and associate dean for Graduate Medical Education. He will continue to serve as dean and practice anesthesiology.
