Jersey City Medical Center, Horizon BCBSNJ Partner for Value-Based Program

Jersey City (N.J.) Medical Center and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey have signed a letter of intent to launch a value-based, patient-centered program later this year.

The program, which has yet to be developed, will aim to improve quality outcomes, provide better patient experience and lower the cost of care. Horizon BCBSNJ has a number of value-based programs, including accountable care organizations and patient-centered medical homes.

"Jersey City Medical Center has long been the provider of the highest quality of care in Hudson County. In collaboration with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, we believe that we will be able to improve the overall quality of patient care delivered in Hudson County," Joseph Scott, president and CEO of JCMC, said in a news release.
