Hill Physicians Medical Group in San Ramon, Calif., is giving credit to its participation in accountable care organizations for performance improvements and reducing the overall cost of care, according to a Sacramento Business Journal report.
The medical group, which has more than 3,800 primary care physicians, specialists, subspecialists and consultants, participates in three ACOs, according to the report. The group paid more than $44 million to physicians for meeting quality targets and improving efficiency.
Hill Physicians' net income in 2012 was $11.9 million, up from $11.6 million in 2011, the Sacramento Business Journal reported.
