Kaiser Permanente Irvine (Calif.) Medical Center.Kaiser Permanente Irvine Medical Center has embarked on several projects to reduce its environmental impact. The hospital's goals are in line with those of Kaiser Permanente's Environmental Stewardship program, which aims to buy all of its food locally or from farms with sustainable practices; recycle, reuse or compost 100 percent of its non-hazardous waste; reduce water use by 25 percent; meet international standards for environmental management; purchase more products and materials that meet environmental standards; and pursue new collaborations to reduce environmental risks, all by 2025. Kaiser Permanente Irvine Medical Center received Practice Greenhealth's Partner Recognition Award in 2017.
