Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital (Barrington, Ill.). Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital cut energy use intensity by approximately 37 percent since 2008 and curbed water consumption by 500,000 gallons in 2016. The hospital accepted several prestigious honors in 2017, including Practice Greenhealth's Greening the OR Recognition Award, the coveted Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award and the American Society for Healthcare Engineering's Energy to Care Award for reducing energy by at least 10 percent compared to baseline consumption. In late 2017, Advocate Good Shepherd will complete a patient care center using LEED guidelines, targeting LEED Silver certification.
