Erie (Pa.) VA Medical Center. This 60-bed facility with more than 700 employees has a history of dedication to efficiency and sustainability. For instance, in 2015, Erie VAMC earned a Greenhealth Emerald Award from Practice Greenhealth. This year, the hospital upped the ante by taking home a Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award as well as a Making Medicine Mercury Free Award from the same organization. Not only that, but VAMC was recognized as a leader in water efficiency with its placement in Practice Greenhealth's Water Circle of Excellence in 2015 and 2016.
