Elaine Batchlor, MD. CEO of Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital (Los Angeles). Dr. Batchlor was a driving force behind efforts to open Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital, a safety net facility providing care to the South Los Angeles community. Before assuming the role of hospital CEO, Dr. Batchlor was CMO of L.A. Care Health Plan, a public health plan serving the state's most vulnerable residents. There, she spearheaded health IT adoption initiatives, provider EHR implementations and telemedicine programs to improve access for Los Angeles' Medicaid population. In addition, she mentors inner-city minority youth via the UCLA Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program, where she is also an advisory board member.
