Porter Adventist Hospital, founded in 1930, is a leader in joint replacement, as surgeons at the hospital's Porter Center for Joint Replacement perform more than 1,800 knee and hip replacements each year. The Magnet-designated hospital has six dedicated orthopedic operating suites, built in 2007 for the sole purpose of joint replacement surgery. Porter Adventist's orthopedic prowess has been recognized at the national level, as U.S. News & World Report ranked the hospital among the top 50 in the nation for orthopedic care for 2014-15, and it is also a Blue Distinction Center for knee and hip replacement.
