David Torchiana, MD. President and CEO of Partners HealthCare (Boston). In February 2015, Dr. Torchiana was appointed president and CEO of Partners HealthCare, a nonprofit academic health system founded by Boston-based Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital in 1994. Boston Magazine named Dr. Torchiana among the 21 most influential people shaping Boston's future in April. A month later, with Dr. Torchiana at the helm, Partners HealthCare entered into 10-year collaboration with GE Healthcare to develop and integrate deep learning technologies across the continuum of care. A cardiac surgeon by training, Dr. Torchiana joined MGH in 1989 and was named chief of cardiac surgery in 1998. He was promoted to CEO of the 1,700-member Massachusetts General Physicians Organization in 2003.
