Robert C. Robbins, MD. President and CEO of Texas Medical Center (Houston). Dr. Robbins, a cardiac surgeon, became president and CEO of Texas Medical Center in 2012. In addition to his current role, he sits on the advisory board of the Ronald McDonald House Houston and on the board of directors of several Houston organizations. Previously, he served as professor and chairman of the department of cardiothoracic surgery at Stanford (Calif.) University School of Medicine and director of the Stanford Cardiovascular Institute. During his career, he has been president of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, president of the Bay Area Society of Thoracic Surgeons and chair of the American Heart Association Cardiovascular Surgery and Anesthesia Council, among other roles. Dr. Robbins is the author of more than 292 peer-reviewed articles.
