Preston Simons. CIO of Aurora Health Care (Milwaukee). Aurora Health Care appointed Mr. Simons CIO in October 2015, making him responsible for leading the health systems technology and innovative IT platforms. He has previous experience as CIO of Abbott Laboratories, where he spent more than a decade overseeing all aspects of the IT department, which at one point included more than 4,000 employees and IT contractors. Throughout his distinguished career in health IT, Mr. Simmons gained experience leading IT at several health systems, a health insurance plan and in the pharmacy industry, as well as taking on leading roles at Chicago CIO Institute.
