Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals | 100 Hospitals with Great Heart Programs 2015-16

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals (Philadelphia). Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals' heart institute was one of the nation's first to implant stents to open arteries and use drug-eluting stents to prevent re-obstruction. Today it is one of few hospitals in the nation to use the Philips Brillance iCT 265-slice scanner to image arteries. It is a Blue Distinction Center+ for Cardiac Care because it provides safe, high-quality and efficient cardiac care. The Magnet-designated hospital was named one of America's 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care by Healthgrades in 2014 and 2015. Additionally, U.S. News & World Report named it as high-performing in cardiology and heart surgery in its 2015-16 rankings.
