Florida Hospital Orlando's cardiovascular institute is the only facility in Central Florida that performs heart transplants, and it is among the largest and heart facilities in the U.S. The institute sees more than 70,000 cardiac patients each year, 2,000 of whom require cardiac surgery. The hospital was ranked No. 44 in the nation for cardiology and heart surgery by U.S. News & World Report for 2015-16. U.S. News & World Report also recognized the hospital as high-performing for heart failure in its common care ratings this year
