Mount Sinai Health System (New York City). The Spine Program at Mount Sinai Health System was established in 2003, and due to an increasing demand for excellent spine care, Mount Sinai opened The Spine Hospital in 2014. In 2016, the spine program saw 27,000 patient visits, and the 16 spine surgeons employed at the hospital performed 3,600 spine surgeries. In addition to providing award-winning clinical care, Mount Sinai Hospital has a robust research program where physicians received more than $2 million in federal funding in 2016. U.S. News & World Report ranked Mount Sinai Hospital No. 16 in the nation for neurology and neurosurgery in 2017-18.
