UCSF Medical Center was ranked among the top 15 hospitals in the nation for orthopedics in 2014-15 by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital specializes in orthopedic surgical oncology, orthotics & prosthetics and spine. UCSF Spine Center is one of the largest centers of its kind in the U.S., treating 10,000 patients each year. The hospital's Orthopaedic Institute houses a number of centers and programs, including cartilage repair and regeneration, electromyography and skeletal health. A Blue Distinction Center for both spine surgery and knee and hip replacement, the UCSF Medical Center is designated as a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
