The Swedish Orthopedic Institute was the first orthopedic-dedicated facility in the Pacific Northwest, located at Swedish Medical Center's First Hill campus. Swedish Medical Center was named one of CareChex's top 100 hospitals for orthopedic surgery in 2014. A Blue Distinction Center for knee and hip replacements, Swedish Medical Center also received the Joint Replacement Excellence Award from Healthgrades this year. The Swedish Orthopedic Institute has a network of more than 80 surgeons and physicians spanning across four Swedish campuses. Swedish orthopedic surgeons were the first in the Puget Sound area to perform MAKOplasty Partial Knee Resurfacing treatment.
