With more than 20 surgeons, Ochsner Medical Center was ranked one of the best hospitals for orthopedics for 2014-15 by U.S. News & World Report. Part of a nonprofit, academic health system, the hospital also received the Joint Replacement Excellence Award from Healthgrades and is a Blue Distinction Center+ for knee and hip replacements and spine surgery. Within its orthopedic program, the hospital has specialty centers such as the Back and Spine Center, Sports Medicine Institute, Hand Center and pediatric orthopedics. Ochsner Medical Center was also ranked in the top 100 hospitals by Truven Health Analytics.
