North Shore University Hospital, part of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, is one location of the North Shore-LIJ Orthopaedic Institute, which offers general orthopedic services as well as specialized services for treating musculoskeletal conditions. The institute has partnerships with major sports teams, including the U.S. ski team, and its clinicians also provide care at major sporting events, such as the U.S. Open. North Shore-LIJ Orthopaedic Institute is also involved in research through the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, the health system's research arm. Recently, Daniel A. Grande, PhD, director of the Orthopaedic Research Library at Feinstein, and his collaborators have been developing novel cell-modified scaffolds for enhancing tendon repair.
