UC San Diego Medical Center-UC San Diego Health. UC San Diego Health established Moores Cancer Center in 1978 to provide outpatient oncology services. Moores Cancer Center is a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and participates in the American Society of Clinical Oncology's Quality Oncology Practice Initiative. In November 2016, UC San Diego Health opened Jacobs Medical Center, a 245-bed facility that is home to the health system's inpatient cancer surgeries as well as blood marrow and stem-cell transplant procedures. CareChex ranked UC San Diego No. 4 in California for cancer care and U.S. News & World Report ranked UC San Diego-Moores Cancer Center among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for cancer care in 2017-18.
