UC San Diego Medical Center gleaned the No. 37 ranking on U.S. News & World Report's best hospitals for neurology and neurosurgery for 2016-17, and was listed to CareChex's 2017 top 10 hospitals in California for neurosurgery and neurological care. Housing one of the first five Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Centers in America, the medical center is also a designated Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery.
