Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health is bringing its internal staffing agency model to Colorado, where it will also launch its SelectHealth insurance plan next year, CFO Janey Wade told Becker's.
The news comes one year after Intermountain Healthcare merged with Broomfield, Colo.-based SCL Health — where Ms. Wade previously served as CFO — to form Intermountain Health. The combined system includes 33 hospitals, 385 clinics, 59,000 employees and a medical group with more than 3,800 physicians and advanced practice providers.
Intermountain's insurance plan has grown to more than 1 million members in Utah, Idaho and Nevada, and will launch in Colorado in January.
The health system's internal staffing agency, iFlex RN, launched in the Utah region and is also being expanded to Colorado.
"Part of the labor shortage solution is to not lose caregivers, so we're really focused on retention and engagement with our providers, Ms. Wade said. "We're committed to delivering on those and continuing to provide high-quality, safe and affordable care."
