Healthcare added 41,600 jobs in January, down from the 50,200 jobs the industry added the month prior, according to the latest jobs report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Within healthcare, ambulatory healthcare services showed the most employment growth last month, adding 22,100 jobs. Hospitals added 18,800 jobs in January, up from 7,400 jobs added in December.
Overall, healthcare employment increased by 368,000 jobs over the past year, according to the bureau.
The U.S. added 304,000 jobs in January.
