Owens & Minor to scoop home medical supply company

Owens & Minor, a healthcare supply chain, distribution and logistics company, will acquire Rotech Healthcare Handlings for $1.36 billion in cash.

Rotech is a home medical equipment provider with more than 4,200 employees and operates about 325 locations, according to a July 23 news release from Owens & Minor. In 2023, Rotech made about $750 million in revenue.

Owens & Minor said the acquisition will bolster its portfolio and better serve providers and payers.

With anticipated tax benefits, the new purchase price is about $1.32 billion, the release said. The transaction is expected to close by late 2024.
