New PPE manufacturer to open Ohio plant

Emerge Manufacturing — a newly founded personal protective equipment manufacturer — is slated to open a 50,000-square-foot facility in Cincinnati in 2024.

The manufacturing company was founded by Cynthia Booth, a prominent entrepreneur and business leader in the region, according to a Dec. 15 news release. The company expects to create 100 jobs in the first three years, with construction of the Cincinnati facility set to begin during the first quarter of 2023.

Once operational, it will manufacture face masks, surgical masks and N95 masks, among other PPE products, using fabric supplied by U.S. companies. The facility will also feature space that medical professionals can use to provide training and information on health-related topics.

Emerge Manufacturing has formed a strategic collaboration with  Cincinnati-based Bon Secours Mercy Health to provide PPE for the system's 60,000 employees through Advantus Health Partners, a Bon Secours subsidiary that provides supply chain services for the health system.
