Eli Lilly CFO to retire at year-end

Eli Lilly CFO Derica Rice is retiring in December 2017, ending a 27-year career with the global pharmaceutical giant.

Mr. Rice, who also serves as executive vice president of global services, is a member of Eli Lilly's executive committee. He came to Eli Lilly in 1990 and was named to his current roles in May 2006. In the intervening years, he held a number of finance and operations positions within the company, including vice president and controller. He also served as executive director and CFO of European operations as well as CFO of Canada operations for Eli Lilly.

Mr. Rice holds an MBA degree from Indianapolis-based Indiana University.

Ricks, Eli Lilly's chairman, president and CEO. "Derica has been a core part of Lilly's turnaround, our innovation strategy and our consistent ability to set and then meet targets and commitments.
