An injection for a blood clotting disorder, a rival Botox treatment & more: 4 recent FDA approvals

Four drugs or medical devices approved by the FDA since Feb. 1:

1. Cablivi injection is the first therapy for the treatment of adult patients with acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, a rare blood-clotting disorder.

2. Jeuveau is a new wrinkle treatment for adult patients expected to rival Allergan's Botox.

3. A generic version of the Advair Diskus inhaler, fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder, was approved for patients with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

4. The FDA approved Orthofix Medical's M6-C artificial cervical disk for patients suffering from cervical disc degeneration.
