Fortune has released its list of 50 best places to live for families, which analyzed nearly 1,900 cities nationwide and more than 200,000 unique data points to determine the best place in each state.
Fortune's list, released in June, looks at five categories: education, aging resources, general wellness, financial health and livability.
This ranking includes cities, towns, suburbs, exurbs, villages and townships that had about 20,000 residents, and is focused on multigenerational families. It excludes places with home sale prices that were more than twice as high as the state median and/or more than 2.75 times higher than the median in the U.S.
Fortune also excluded places that were 75 percent less diverse than the state medians, and incorporated socioeconomic, religious and ethnic diversity into its data collection process. Read more about the data collection process and the ranking methodology here.
