Newsweek has published its 2024 "America's Greatest Workplaces for Women" ranking, which includes hospitals and health systems.
The ranking, created in partnership with market data research firm Plant-A Insights, is based on a five-part evaluation process of U.S.-based companies.
The evaluation process included a pre-study survey of human resources professionals to identify employee satisfaction drivers; a main employee survey of more than 142,000 women who provided more than 848,000 company reviews of employers they were familiar with, collected in 2022 and 2023; and an elaborate desk research project in which key performance indicators relevant to women in the workplace were collected (e.g., women in leadership positions, reviews and information from social media platforms).
Additionally, researchers reviewed published press from Dec. 9, 2021, to Dec. 10, 2023, of all recognized companies to identify potential legal disputes around the workplace and calculated an individual company score based on a scoring model.
The best companies in the tiers of large companies (5,000+ employees), mid-size companies (1,000 to 4,999 employees) and small companies (500 to 999 employees) were recognized among the 1,000 greatest workplaces for women. Read more about the methodology here.
