Richmond, Va.-based HCA Virginia Health System has invested $2.97 million in a new radiology program at Brightpoint Community College in Chester, Va., and committed to providing $625,000 in full scholarships to students in the program over the next five years.
The community college-based radiology program is the first of its kind in the Richmond area, according to a Sept. 25 news release from HCA Virginia.
HCA Virginia invested in renovations to create the learning environment at its Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, where the program is based.
Students in the two-year program can complete clinical rotations at HCA Virginia hospitals, freestanding emergency rooms and outpatient imaging centers, the release said.
The program's first cohort is expected to graduate in May 2026.
HCA Virginia is a regional division of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare.
