WHO-Industry Collaborative Can Potentially Reduce HAIs

An industry collaborative with the World Health Organization Patient Safety Programme has the potential to reduce healthcare-associated infections in the long term, according to a study in Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Control.

The authors described the process of forming a collaboration between WHO and 14 companies from industries related to patient safety improvement through hand hygiene. The collaborative, which was created in 2012 as Private Organisations for Patient Safety, aims to improve systems, education and research to reduce HAIs.
