VHA's Center for Applied Healthcare Studies announced significant first-year results in its Partnership for Patients Hospital Engagement Network.
The Center was launched in August 2012.
The Center met CMS goals to reduce hospital-acquired infections by 40 percent and readmissions by 20 percent in its patient engagement network. It also met the 30 percent reduction goal in eight other areas including early elective delivery, surgical site infections, falls, ventilator-associated pneumonia and pressure ulcers.
