The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, N.J, has launched an interactive patient care system, accessible through in-room televisions, to improve patient and familial education and engagement.
Patients will have access to the GetWellNetwork where they can find customized education on their condition, medications and hospital services, as well as entertainment options including movies, video games and music.
"Engage, educate and empower are the keys to encourage our patients to play a more active role in their health care," said Nancy Barrett-Fajardo, RN, director of medical/surgical services at Valley. "We believe this technology will be an invaluable tool for our patients, families and staff and that investing in the wellness of our patients is one of the wisest investments we can make."
