University of Tennessee Medical Center sees no new flu cases for first time in 2 months

The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville did not report any positive flu tests Monday for the first time since Dec. 17, according to WATE-TV 6.

Here are three things to know.

1. UTMC Spokesperson Susan Wyatt said the hospital tested 20 patients for the flu Monday night, and none came back positive.

2. The hospital has seen 61 positive influenza A cases so far in February, compared to 200 cases in January.

3. Ten patients died from the flu at UTMC this season, as of Feb. 9. The hospital said these patients had underlying conditions that may have contributed to their deaths.
